We live in a world of hot takes, clipped videos, rage bait, headlines designed to piss you off and algorithms increasingly convinced they know exactly what you think.

This book is an attempt to make all of that slightly less shit.

I’ll Just Say It Then takes some of the biggest arguments in politics, entertainment and culture and asks a fairly simple question:

What happens when we actually add the context back in?

A funny, sweary and deliberately accessible look at the arguments the internet seems determined to have forever.

From Taylor Swift and Kanye West to AI, religion, cancel culture, celebrity scandals and politics, I’ll Just Say It Then digs beneath the headlines, challenges easy answers and occasionally commits the unforgivable crime of admitting that two things can be true at once.

This isn't a textbook.
It isn't an academic thesis.

And it definitely isn't 300 pages of me telling you that I'm right and everyone else is an idiot.

I’ll Just Say It Then is about taking some of the arguments we've been having online, slowing them down and looking at the bits that tend to disappear between the headline and the comments section.

Sometimes I have an opinion.
Sometimes that opinion is strong.

Sometimes I discover that the answer is considerably more complicated than I wanted it to be.

That's sort of the point.
